Cystic Fibrosis Awareness

Cystic Fibrosis is one of the most common genetic diseases that often affects infants and young children.  This issue became of importance to my wife and I after we discovered we both carried the gene.  However, fortunately, through prenatal testing we discovered my son did not have Cystic Fibrosis.  In the United States alone, nearly 30,000 people have Cystic Fibrosis.  The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is leading the way in research, support and education – and I’m proud to support the Foundation in their work.

I have become involved with the Mauli Ola Foundation that works to introduce surfing as a natural treatment to people with genetic disorders. Since 2007 they have concentrated on the amazing connection between Surfing and Cystic Fibrosis. They have taken nearly 400 CF Patients Surfing at over 40 MOF Surf Experience Days. I recently emcee'd at the Scott Haggard Golf Tournament. . It was a wonderful event and we were able to raise the awareness of Cystic Fibrosis even more.
